Remember the babies from New Year’s Eve?? The New Beginnings Litter is 7 weeks old. Next week they will be able to leave mom and go to foster, or foster to adopt homes. Please, let’s help this kind woman out who offered to take in this entire growing family. 9 puppies is an extraordinary amount of work. Foster or foster to adopt homes MUST live in Central or SE Ohio so that they can receive veterinary care at one of our clinics in Logan or Somerset, Ohio. Other pets in your home must be spay/neutered, current on vaccines and on regular prevention for flea/tick/heartworms. To apply, click the link in the comments below! Can’t foster, share this like crazy! We want to place as many of these dogs as possible by next weekend.

UPDATE! Gary has a pending pick up Friday!![]()
We. Need. Fosters. We need people who are willing to open their heart and home and provide temporary housing to a dog in need. We cover all expenses and supplies as needed. Next week we will need to place 9 puppies, more on them later this week.![]()
Tonight Gary needs our help. He was picked up as a stray and is currently a resident at the Perry Dog Shelter. He tested positive for heartworms. He needs a foster or foster to adopt home that can help him recover from the harsh heartworm treatment. Gary is thought to be a Lab mix. He’s been tested with other dogs and does fine. He’s a handsome, affectionate boy who needs something to go his way. He’s is thought to be 3-4 years old. We can’t pull him from the shelter unless we have a place to put him![]()
Other pets in your home must be spay/neutered, current on vaccines, and on regular prevention for flea/tick/heartworms. ![]()
Our website is currently being worked on as we have been having issues with our foster and adoption forms. Once you submit a form please send an email from our website or send us a message here letting us know you applied. Link to apply is in the website below. Please, please share!![]()
Edit to add: A dog undergoing heartworm treatment is on an activity restriction. No running no jumping no off leash. No playing or rough housing with other dogs. Lots of crate rest.

We know everyone is patiently waiting for an update on our NYE emergency. What started out as a seemingly hopeless situation turned in to miracle after miracle. ![]()
Mama is nothing short of extraordinary. Still just a puppy herself, she gave birth to a litter of nine babies—and then faced a nightmare no dog should ever endure. When her puppies were only two weeks old, Mama and her entire litter were put outside in brutal winter weather, forced to survive for over three weeks in a wire crate, lined only with cardboard and some straw.![]()
On New Year’s Eve, with roads covered and temperatures dropping to 22 degrees, help finally came. Through the compassion and determination of so many, Mama and her nine puppies were rescued just in time—saved from yet another freezing night. It’s hard to comprehend how she survived… or how she managed to keep nine tiny lives alive alongside her own. ![]()
Mama gave everything she had, instinctively, selflessly and bravely to keep her babies alive. Can you even imagine that first night when they didn’t have to fight and struggle just to stay warm. ![]()
Many thanks to Monica and Tiffany our angels here on earth who made this NYE miracle happen. They literally saved lives on the very last night of 2025.![]()
Later this week this group of survivors will have their first vet visit. After Jan. 22nd
They will be ready for homes of their own. We are not accepting applications yet, but we will be looking for foster to adopt homes that live in Central or SE Ohio so that you can continue veterinary care at our clinics in Logan or Somerset. Once pups and mama are spayed-neutered and have received all vaccines, the adoption will be finalized and you can transition to the clinic of your choice. ![]()
Many thanks to everyone who shared that NYE post, that’s exactly how we were able to save these babies! It is indeed a Happy New Year!
